Bath & Body Works’ Body Washes Worth Splurging On

Writing is frickin’ stressful, especially when you’re preparing your manuscript for literary publications. Not only does your short story need to be in the William Shunn Proper Manuscript Format, but it needs to be tailored to fit the guidelines of each publication as well. This leaves you with far too many versions of the same story.

“How do you keep track of all these?” my husband once asked me with an overwhelmed expression on his face.

“Ummm…” I started out, not very articulately for a writer. “That’s a good question. I label the literary publications in some of the file names of each story.”

“Yeah, but how do you know which one to use for future publications?”

“I…uh…er…ah, the hell with it. I don’t know.”

His sympathetic gaze stayed fixed on me.

I swear I’m not being melodramatic when I say this process is the stuff that ulcers are made of. I should get an Excel spreadsheet ready to keep track of all the different versions of each story that I send out to each publication.

In the meantime, let’s discuss two body washes that take me to my calm and happy place in my shower.

Clear plastic 2-oz apothecary-shaped BBW bottle & black cylindrical top, lavender rectangular label & plant & gold white font
Bath & Body Works’ Aromatherapy Lavender + Vanilla Sleep Body
Wash + Foam Bath, 2 oz

I don’t really get the vanilla that Bath & Body Works says is in this. I do get the lavender and it’s spectacular. It smells almost like the bright, woody, and spicy frankincense oil that I used in high school to help relieve stress. I bought it from a shop on Triangle Lane that was near the dance studio I took lessons at. It was owned by hippies and it was all very wonderfully bohemian, with beaded curtains and lava lamps. Every time I used this body wash, I could feel myself unwinding. I usually don’t recommend splurging on things in this awful economy, but it’s definitely worth buying in its regular size. Plus, it’s much easier to find in this size. Here’s the purchasing information for it: Bath & Body Works’ Aromatherapy Lavender + Vanilla Sleep Body Wash + Foam Bath, 10 oz, $30.77 at EveryMarket.

Bath & Body Works’ Bahamas Passionfruit & Banana Flower Body Wash, 3 oz

Because the price of this small size is a little insane, I advise buying the larger size listed below.

This is a fantastic scent. It reminds me of a more economical and sweeter version of Capri Blue’s sugared fruity body wash, Volcano. For a more detailed description of the scent and how to purchase it, click on the following post: The Best Body Washes for Summer. There’s a tanginess from the passionfruit and pineapple leaf notes in this. Although it’s not mentioned in the description, I get a seductive mahogany cologne note that rounds out the scent.
